About Us: Binary Climbing started as sister company to the Calgary Climbing Center to provide locally produce holds using traditional hold manufacturing methods. After seeing the huge number of climbing holds that end up in the landfill, we realized we could lead the industry towards more sustainable hold production practices. Binary has since entirely transitioned to producing holds use Vacuum Thermoforming technology as this allows for the use of plastics that are both recycled and recyclable.
Position Summary: Binary are looking for a Workshop Assistant to join the production team. The Workshop Assist will work under the Production Manager to produce high quality climbing holds via the operation of a variety of workshop equipment, including basic power tools, a table saw, band saw, sandblasting cabinet, sanding belts, and other tools. The ideal candidate will: enjoy on hands-on repetitive work, have a high attention to detail, be well organized, and able to work well as part of a small and dedicated team. Experience operating workshop equipment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Production Manager in producing climbing hold
- Regularly operate workshop equipment
- Maintain a safe working environment through the maintenance and cleaning of workshop and
through safe workshop practices - Recommends changes in products and processes to improve the manufacturing process
What We Offer:
- $18-$20 hourly rate
- Full time hours with every other Monday off
- Free membership to the Calgary Climbing Center for you and a plus one (after 3 months)
- $500/year health spending (after 3 months)
